well everyone knows that a fiberglass boat is best for the salt water it kind of holds its own better,but a nice 16 ft lund or princecraft is good for the ocean.I would have no problem goin out in that the only thing about a aluminum boat is it dont cut through the chop and swell it more just bangs across the top but,you got to be out there on nice days to.So aluminum is your best boat all round for both salt water and fresh

at least a 14' or 16' aluminum, the deeper the hull the better for salt water. Not always the best for the shallow fresh water though. The thing about boating in salt water is reading the weather and not taking any chances (I guess same for fresh water (lakes)for that matter).

My goal is to have a nice duck boat (and maybe a go-devil motor) in the near future. I found this site a few weeks ago, I think this fellow did a great job on his Jon Boat....
