Saw a Black Panther 2 years ago on the highway in Bay d'Espoir I was riding my bicycle on the highway not far from the Garbage pit when the large black Panther crossed the road in front of me. It had it's nose close to the pavement..looked like it was tracking and it did not see me. It was an amazing experience to see such a large powerful majestic animal. I emailed the forestry department in St. John's but did not receive a response or reply.
Over the past number of years there have been many reports of large black cats in various areas of the province. Recently, There have been reports of large biege cats in Central.
